The Heart of ObiYaa Nana
Growing up in the vibrant heart of Ghana, my sisters and I didn't wear "ready-made" clothes. While others headed to boutiques for Christmas church services, we wore something far more valuable: custom-made pieces stitched with love. My mother, affectionately known as Auntie Lizzy, was our first designer. She didn't just make dresses; she cultivated a belief that has become the bedrock of my brand: "Custom-made is special—no one else will have what you’re wearing." Today, that childhood wonder has blossomed into ObiYaa Nana, a fashion house born from tradition, individuality, and the unapologetic freedom to stand out.
A Legacy in a Name
The name ObiYaa Nana is a tribute to my grandmother, Obiyaa. Known to us as Eno Yaa, she was a woman of immense strength and grace. Those who knew her see her spirit in me—a shared presence that I pour into every silhouette I design. When you wear ObiYaa Nana, you aren't just wearing a garment; you are wearing a story of lineage and creative resilience.
